Eucoyptus trees were introduced to California 150 years ago. Eucolyptus trees endanger California's insect-eating birds, create a fire hazard (firefighters call them "gasoline trees," but people plant them near their houses), and eucolyptus trees squeeze out coastal scrub and other important indigenous plants by drinking every bit of moisture around them...
