ACT UP/San Francisco has operated a medical marijuana dispensary (pot club) since September 1998, when another pot club was shut down. In those days there were few alternatives for San Franciscans who wanted to find medical marijuana. Members of ACT UP/SF opened a club, and has been risking arrest daily since.
ACT UP/SF distributes free literature from their community space, you can call or write and ask for an info pack. A copy of Christine Maggiore's informative book, "What if everything you thought you knew about AIDS was wrong?" is available for free (while supplies last)
You can contact them by calling 415-864-6686, or by emailing them at actupsf@hotmail.com
Most of the people who comprise ACT UP/SF have individual projects that they are working on..*

Meanwhile in San Francisco, new AIDS cases are at the lowest rate since the 1980's -
